Mala & Mehndi

Adornment as ritual.
Flowers, botanicals, and henna woven into moments of celebration, connection, and ceremony.

Mala and mehndi are forms of adornment that carry meaning beyond the visual. I approach both as living expressions of relationship—with plants, with the body, and with the significance of the moment.

I revere henna as a plant ally and honor its history not only as an art form, but as a botanical medicine. Its relationship with the body extends beyond beauty; henna has long been valued for its cooling, protective, and soothing qualities. Working with henna is an opportunity to remember that adornment and medicine can exist together.

From fresh floral malas for weddings and ceremonies to hand drawn henna designs, this work explores adornment as a way of honoring the body, the plants, the moment, and the people we gather with.
