Cha Dao 茶道
Tea Ceremony
The Way of Tea, is an ancient meditative practice rooted in presence, simplicity, harmony, and respect.
The origins of Tea can be traced back to Yunnan, China around 5,000 years ago. The leaf has captivated the hearts of many cultures and peoples, traded and exported all over the globe. It is the oldest and the second most consumed beverage on the planet, after water.
Camellia sinensis leaves, when prepared with intention and care, invites us to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves, with nature, and with all of life.
“Meditation is the expression of our real selves … Without periods of silent reflection, a life becomes a shallow pursuit … Learning to take the time out of each day … and relax into a peaceful state … where nothing is wanted or needed … infuses us with the wisdom inherent in our quiet centers.”
—Wu De
